About PreFactur
PreFactur came out of a very specific need: creating invoices and quotes quickly, without having to pay a monthly subscription for a task that, for many freelancers and small businesses, shouldn't cost anything.
Why PreFactur exists
Most online invoice generators cap the number of free documents per month, or hide basic features (like exporting to Excel or saving your clients) behind a paid plan. PreFactur was built to do the opposite: no document limit, no fine print.
That doesn't mean it's free to run — hosting, the domain, and the cloud account infrastructure have a real cost — but the goal is for the site's ads to cover that cost, not the wallet of someone who just needs to make an invoice.
How it works under the hood
PreFactur runs directly in your browser: as you fill in the form, the preview of your invoice or quote is generated instantly, and you can download it as PDF or Excel without uploading anything to a server.
If you choose to create a free account with Google, your invoices, quotes, clients and products are also saved to the cloud (using Firebase, Google's platform for applications), so you can access them from any device. Without an account, everything stays only in your browser.
