Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 July 20261. What is PreFactur
PreFactur is a 100% free web tool that lets you create professional invoices and quotes directly from your browser and download them as a PDF or Excel file. This policy explains what information is entered when using the tool and how it is handled.
2. What data you can enter
When using PreFactur you may fill in, among others, the following fields:
- Your company details: name, logo, tax ID, address, email and phone.
- Your client's details: name, company, address, email and phone.
- Document information: number, dates, product or service lines, notes and payment terms.
All of these fields are entered voluntarily by you to generate your invoice or quote.
3. How your data is processed if you don't have an account
Without creating an account, you can use the invoice and quote creator as usual: the data you enter is processed locally in your own browser to calculate totals, show the preview and generate the PDF or Excel file. PreFactur does not send this data to any external server: the document is generated using your browser's own functions, and the draft is saved only in your own device's local storage (localStorage), so you don't lose your work if you reload the page. If you clear your browser's browsing data, that local draft will also be deleted.
4. How your data is processed if you create an account
If you choose to sign in with your Google account, PreFactur uses Firebase (Google's platform for applications) for two things:
- Firebase Authentication: manages sign-in with your Google account. We only receive your public Google name, email and profile photo; we don't access your password or any other data from your Google account.
- Cloud Firestore: if you're signed in, your invoices, quotes, clients, products, profile and backups are stored in this cloud database, linked only to your account. No one else can read or modify that data: access is restricted by security rules to your own user.
This data is kept for as long as you keep your account active. You can delete invoices, quotes, clients or products individually from your dashboard at any time. If you'd like your account and all associated data fully deleted, write to us via the contact page.
5. Analytics and advertising
PreFactur uses the following Google services, but only if you accept the corresponding cookies in the notice shown on your first visit:
- Google Analytics, to understand in aggregate how the website is used and improve it.
- Firebase Analytics, for the same purpose, integrated into the account platform.
- Google AdSense, to show ads that help keep the service free.
If you reject non-essential cookies, none of these three services is loaded or run in your browser: they're only activated after your explicit consent. You can change your decision at any time by clearing this site's browsing data, which will make the cookie notice appear again.
6. Cookies
The website uses technical cookies/storage necessary for it to function (for example, to keep you signed in or remember your light/dark theme preference) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics and Google AdSense cookies. You can find full details in our Cookie Policy.
7. Your rights under the GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to, and request portability of your personal data.
If you use PreFactur without an account, your data never leaves your browser, so the most direct way to exercise these rights is to delete the locally saved draft. If you have an account, you can edit or delete your data at any time from your dashboard and profile, download a full copy of your data (the "Download backup" button in your profile), or ask us to fully delete your account via the contact page.
As for data collected by Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics and AdSense (only if you gave consent), you can manage your cookie preferences from your browser settings, or check Google's own privacy policies to exercise your rights directly with Google.
8. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes to the tool or to applicable regulations. We recommend reviewing it periodically. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
